Famously, the suits were improvised from shower curtain material - a perfect example of the low-budget ingenuity that gave The Original Series so many of its most memorable looks. Unlike the silver spacesuits that would appear later in the show, Theiss's design for \"The Naked Time\" was a loose-fitting coverall in a striking orange fabric shot through with a silver metallic pattern, topped with a soft hood and a screened face panel. The result is one of the most visually distinctive costumes of the entire Original Series, and the outfit Spock is wearing when Lt.
